A man who was looking for help to plan a assassination on Tony Blair and Gordon Brown is jailed for five years. Ishaq Kanmi who is 24 years old wrote on a Jihad website that Blair and Brown where going to be assassinated if they did not listen to his demands. Kanmi said on the Jihad forum that he was the leader of al Qaida in Britain, after some investigation from the police they found out that he has no connection with al Qaida by any means. He pleaded guilty in an early state of the process.
My opinion
I think that the punishment he got was not the right one. I think if you threat to kill someone and also ask others to do this you should get a higher punishment. Besides only getting time in jail I also think he should get some mental help because he clearly is going to keep on going with these activities after he get out of jail.

MPs demand credit

MPs demanded yesterday that they be given a taxpayer-funded credit card. The mp moaned about the new expenses system that is being used these days. MPs used to get money directly from their commons bosses who paid their bills. Now they first have to pay everything themselves and they get a refund later. But the problem with this is that they say they have to wait for a very long time to get their money back. Lib Dem Bob Rusel said: "If we had a Commons credit card, the print-out would show what was spent. It would take the money out of the hands of MPs."
My opinion
I think this is just a very stupid problem that MPs should not worry about. The only problem they have now is that they have to wait for a while before they get their money back, I do not see the problem in this. There are a lot bigger problems in England where they should be talking about and trying to solve.

A lot of these crimes took place in or around school. However you look at these statistics, they reveal what people know only too well - that crime affecting young people is a serious problem which must be tackled” they say they are going to do something about this but it would be hard because children are easier a victim of low level crimes.
My opinion
I think this is something that is going to be really difficult to do something about. Children will always be children they are bound to get into small fights at school all the time. They do not say that the things that are happing around the school are very big crimes. I think the best way to lower these numbers is to have more prevention at school about violence and keep a closer look at playgrounds.

Things are going to have to change to get England out of this very big dept that they have. Smoking kills? Yaay, that’s so cool, say teens (speaker's corner)

Lisa is a 14 year old girl that smokes around 6 cigarettes a day. She smokes at home but also with her friends at school during lunch break. The teachers really do not care about this and she says that if they want to they can easily catch her and her friends. The anti smoking crusade that is going on in Britain does not seem to work. People cannot smoke in public places and the age that a person can buy cigarettes went from 16 to 18. Yet despite these steps and the millions spent on awareness that smoking kills the number of young people smoking has at best flattened out and at worst, in some areas, actually worsened.
Debate statement: The new laws and millions spend on smoking are a big wasted of time.
My opinion:
I do not think that the laws and the money are a waste of time. Although in some places it did not work I do think that the government has a obligation to protect their youth. All the kids that smoke these days know that it is bad for them. After the information the children get about smoking they can make their own choice if they are going to smoke or not.
